As I mentioned in 2025 the Great Transformation we have been going through a shift in polarity from masculine to feminine since the 20th century. The 20th century – 1900-1999 – marked the end of a thousand year cycle ruled by number 1 (1000-1999). As energy continues to grow throughout a cycle, the 20th century embodied the strongest 1 energy of the whole millennium. The masculine energy was so strong that women moved more into their masculine sides. Feminism is essentially the awakening of masculine intelligence in women.
The 20th century straddled masculine – 1900-99 – with feminine – 20th century.
The first life cycle of the 21st century lasts from 2000 – 2025. Each century – just like a human life – has three life cycles. In the first cycle we are very much influenced by the attitudes of our parents and society. The heightened sensitivity of most people since 2000 is the result of the polarity switch from masculine to feminine. Our nervous systems have been conditioned by 1000 years of masculine dominant polarity and are struggling to adapt to the shift into the more sensitive feminine.
In a human life, our first seven years are completely dependent on parents or guardians. Around the age of seven our conscious rational minds become more active and we begin an individuation phase, which takes us into puberty. We are more aware of our own needs and question and sometimes rebel against parents and other authorities.
In numerology, cycles generally last in multiples of 9. Our current century started in a 2 year: 2+0+0+0 = 2. The first 1 year of the new millennium was in 2008: 2+0+0+8 = 10/1. The new nine year cycle beginning in 2008 marked an important shift away from the outgoing 1 into the current 2 feminine polarity. Like a child, the energy of the new century started to awaken and individuate.
The financial crash of 2008 was a symptom of the dominant 1 energy of the previous century finally burning out. The nonstop growth and expansionism of the 20th century could no longer be sustained.
2008 was when the dominant 2 qualities of the new millennium really started to awaken. Since then many people have been feeling like the quality of time itself has changed. Without the dominant 1 energy we’ve been used to, it feels like everything is blending into everything else. The dominant 1 of the 20th century produced individual decades, each with their own character and a tangible sense of continuity and change. We will not see this again in such a clearly delineated way.
Our conscious becoming since 2008 has been challenging. The rapid shift from dominant masculine to feminine has seen increased gender confusion, narcissism, over sensitivity, lack of humour (the ability to laugh at oneself is a masculine quality) and a desire for safety at the expense of personal freedom.
An interesting phenomenon I have seen in my personal yearly cycles is that beginning 2008, the universal year energy became stronger than my personal year. This makes sense as the inclusive nature of 2 requires that we work more for the collective than ourselves. When making yearly forecasts it’s now important to factor in both year numbers, in order to navigate the year most effectively.
The personal year is calculated by adding the day number and month number of your date of birth to the current year number and reducing the total to a single digit. The personal year number describes your general energy in that year. The universal year is calculated by adding all the numbers in that year together and reducing the result to a single number. The universal year number describes the general energy of the collective psyche.
In 2025 I’m in a 6 personal year, which should indicate the need to socialize, settle down and nurture and serve family and community. I don’t feel this as much as I did in 6 personal years prior to 2008. Instead I’m more aligned with 2025’s 9 energy of completion.
If you’re feeling disconnected or without a tangible sense of what to do next, it could be that you’ll have to wait until 2026’s 1 year, which marks the new beginnings of the 21st century’s second life cycle. For those of us who are able to acclimatize to the growing feminine energy and integrate it with a healthy sense of masculine, 2026 will be a breath of fresh air.
