In my opinion, based on 30 years professional experience as a numerologist, the Pythagorean system is superior to the Chaldean system. The Chaldean system doesn’t use the number 9 in calculations, making 8 the highest number. The claim is that the Chaldeans considered 9 to be sacred and apart from the other numbers.

Since discovering numerology I always had an aversion to Chaldean numerology. Through learning more and continuing to sharpen my intuition and logic, I began to understand why. Each of the numbers is associated with a planet in our solar system and 8 is connected to Saturn. In our bodies 8 rules the bones and it’s interesting that 8 looks like a skeleton. Whether by intent or ignorance Chaldean numerology is effectively Saturn worship. It places the Saturn qualities of density, materiality and time at the top of human experience. Too much focus on Saturn brings out its negative qualities and manifests Satan or Sauron of the Lord of the Rings. Think about the LOTR book or film: Sauron didn’t want to completely destroy Middle Earth, but industrialize it at the expense of nature.

I don’t doubt that Chaldean numerology works for some people, but suggest that they are more under the control of Saturn than they realize. Chaldean numerology is literally a loop of infinity (8 on its side) which keeps energy trapped within the Saturn matrix of materiality and time.

On the contrary Pythagorean numerology acknowledges number 9 as a normal, accessible part of human experience. 9 represents compassion and selflessness. Its symbolism indicates the perfection of spirit (the top circle) moving downward to establish a kingdom of Heaven on Earth ((the lower ‘tail’). Heaven and Earth are still connected, but there is no longer an endless looping between one and the other. 9 represents true enlightenment and the breaking of Saturn’s hegemony and the cycle of reincarnation. 9’s planet is Jupiter, which was personified by the ancient Greeks as Zeus, who communicated through lightning.

In Pythagorean numerology there are no intrinsically good or bad numbers. They can all manifest as balanced or imbalanced. Balanced 8 energy is necessary to give a sense of materiality to our holographic experience. Too much makes us believe in time and damns us to a life of grind. Too much 9 energy creates unrealistic Utopian expectations. There can be a feeling of ‘nothing’s ever good enough’, which results in complaining, resentment and bitterness.  A Numerology Life Reading with me can explain whether you have a tendency to be out of balance in any number. I can suggest activities to balance these energies.

In summary Pythagoras understood that humans are divine at heart and able to manifest our divinity as compassion and selflessness. Chaldean numerology insulates humanity from divinity and puts Saturn over all.
